WORLD CLUB CRICKET UMPIRES REPORT.

Hi everyone!

Not much has been happening in the Umpiring realm at the moment. All Panel members have been busy umpiring each round’s matches and keeping up-to-date with the amendments to the 2000 Code which have just been handed down by the MCC.

The Elite Panel have been training very hard in all aspects of their game and are looking forward to taking their new found knowledge out onto the field.

The International Panel has a very full schedule coming up with the one and four day matches and also the Academy matches. They will continue their training also and 2 members will be chosen to go overseas to be the On-Field Umpires and represent the WCCC at tournaments in the coming months.

Development Panel members are looking forward to the Friendlies, which will be taking place soon.

On the administration side of things, WCCC’s CEO (Umpiring) Eyes_Only has been busy getting information ready for the new website. You can find this information on the main page under the “Umpire Panel” link on the left hand side of the main page.

Eyes_Only has also been re-writing the Codes Of Conduct, which will be implemented next season. This will be completed and ratified by the WCCC Board at the next Board meeting (providing they are re-written by then!!)

Training for all Panel Members has been an on-going issue with many umpires unsure of whether they will be promoted or relegated at the end of the season. I feel this is something that the WCCC Board needs to discuss to stop the potential exodus of Umpires from the competition.

On the Judiciary Panel front, things have been very quiet of late with no players being reported by the umpires which is pleasing.

Until next time....

Yours In Cricket…
