Who do you think will be Australia's frontline spiner over the next year or so?

Come the home season, Krejza will be given first go and if he fails Casson will get it. If Casson fails it would be around the time McGain would be coming back so he might get a go then. Don't have a huge amount of confidence in any of them but more then happy to be proven wrong.

Yea i think whites test days are over. But i think Katich is pretty decent prolly wont be the main option but he does need to be used more...

I'd definitely be playing four specialist quicks in Australia until such a time where a spinner was consistently one of the better bowlers in First Class cricket. I'm one of if not the biggest Jason Krejza fan, but I wouldn't play him at home unless he took more wickets in those conditions at First Class level.

The selectors will almost certainly pick a spinner anyway though, and it should definitely be him as it stands as McGain will be out for a while and no-one else has done anything to put their hand up for selection at all.

Its a bit of a cop out to cassons though dont you think? he bowled well in the windies.

And it seems if this poll is anything to go by everyone has forgotten him (only 9 ppl so far though)

I disagree - I thought he looked terrible over there and he was rarely threatening at any stage against a pretty poor batting lineup. He's done absolutely nothing this season, either.

Casson won't make it.

Krejza has the most potential, has to work on his variations for the decks that don't offer so much, we haven't had a finger spinner who can actually rip the ball for a while. Will probably play in Brisbane due to the hype of this performance, but imo should only get gigs in Sydney and Adelaide at this stage.

Yea i agree i think if there is no help from the pitch he will be hit for the same number of runs with out any of the wickets.

I don't think the New Zealanders will be quite as keen to smash the crap out of him, somehow. I still don't think he'll be particularly effective against them though; would definitely rather four quicks.

You'd have to be pretty surprised if they didn't play Krejza for the first, maybe both, Tests against New Zealand, given the way things stand.

Let's hope they deal with him well, as state sides have done.

Obviously if any spinner plays for Australia in the immediate future he'll be the one and quite rightly.

Hopefully Casson might never play again. Ridiculous that he played at all.

Yes this is what will happen.

Na, piss off. Was a better selection at the time of his selection than Krejza was.

Having said that, Krejza has earned another gig although I agree with PEWS as per usual.

I think Krejza has done enough in India to ensure that he gets a chance in the upcoming series against NZ, but on Aussie tracks he is very likely to get destroyed and not have many wickets to show for it, he is good talent but he has long way to go, after him i think McGain is the next in line but if he isn't fit then Casson should get a chance, might prove to be a bit costly but is likely to pick wickets imo and i guess he would get better with time in terms of the kind of speed at which he bowls, and with his accuracy, he gets good turn and has a good wrong'un to go with it it, if only he can improve his accuracy and speed problems, Australia would have a very decent wrist spinner at their disposal.

So Krejza gets my nod for now, but as a short term wrist spinning option i would pick McGain and as a long term wrist spinner i would show faith in Casson, after having heard good things about Boyce i hope he turns out to be one for the future.
