Border XI

Dissapointing loss from our huge win in the 4D comp.

Bradman XI were to bat and we got off to a flyer, Cleary and Truscott got both their openers out for ducks. However that was the last of our good luck, with the middle order settling in and scoring big. Cleary finished up with superb figures of 3/39 off 9 overs, and Cole kicking in with a more expensive 3/53 off 10 overs.

We were left to chase a very gettable 217 for victory. Our long batting order crumbled. Mc Grath settled one end scoring a respectable 32(61). While his opening partner Ward was dismissed for 5. Cole and Underwood went out trying to revive the run chase with agressive scoring, but threw their wickets away cheaply. Underwood scoring a dismal 16(9) and Cole a even poorer 10 off 6 balls. That brought Gratrix to the crease, who top scored with a lovley 38 off 24 balls, however this was not enough as the rest of the batting lineup failed around him.

After 34 overs we were all out for a dissapointing 149. Losing by 67 runs.

A good bowling effort left us in with a chance, however it just wasnt our day with the bat. We can only look ahead to the coming games and leave this behind us.

We love it when Zimbabwean stuff wins!

The Flower's XI have produced another fantastic win for me.
S. Friend was named man of the match with an incredible 122* off only 118 balls. He, along with Beerala, carried the side to an 8 wicket win. Earlier, Laker, whilst expensive, picked up three important wickets. Pointer, one of the academy's best spinners, also claimed two scalps.
