  • Its Robert John Allwright Massie known as Jack Massie. Son of Hugh Massie who played in the famous "ashes" test of 1882. Look up his cricinfo profile. He only played 4 seasons leading up to WW1 and has a fine average, even considering that run getting was harder up until the first war. Good luck. That Never Played a Test draft is good fun. Get Jack before fertang does. :)
Hi mate, I was going to do a piece on adjusted averages based on our discussions with watson in the Bradman/Gould thread. As a result of gathering the data it also became possible to look in parallel at the issue of maintaining a 60 average, based on your suggestion in the same thread. I presume you wouldn't have a problem with that, stealing your thunder so to speak? I will of course give you a mention.
I don't want to turn that debate into an argument, but don't call me a halfwit
Hi, just to let you know that Adders, wiff and I have opened the donations page towards contributing to the Cricket Web banners that are being produced for Phil Hughes and Sean Abbott. We're leaving you a message as you mentioned that you may be interested in contributing. Please check out the original thread in Cricket Chat for details. Many thanks.
Yeah, we've discussed at length trying to get infraction notices into notifications, but apparently a vBulletin modification that shows it there simply does not exist.
    Hey mate,

If you check the email you signed up for CW with, there should be an explanation within that. Basically, we aren't a fan of people using things like "gay" to describe stuff - in your case, Peter Siddle's diet. I issued the warning infraction when I saw the post; people don't have to complain for something to be violating the rules.

You weren't infracted per se, it was just a warning - which carries no points. Given your clean infraction record, and knowing you meant no malice in using the term, I thought issuing an actual infraction was unnecessary. If you had received points for the infraction, they would expire at the date listed on your profile. 15 points total results in a 7 day ban. Inappropriate Language is worth 3 points, FTR.

Given your infraction record you've really got nothing to worry about. Just don't describe things as 'gay' in the future and you'll be fine :p

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

    Cheers,
    Dan
Really enjoying your posts in the Bradman thread, but try to use the edit button in future rather than making four posts in a row.
I'm not even sure that writing this will get to you Dan. In the hope it does I'm glad the mod team realises that I wasn't being offensive. I understand you are protective of the forum's image and I'll refrain from using those words in future.
Just wanted to drop you a line regarding this post - while the moderation team is well aware that the terms you used were not used maliciously, we would still prefer you refrain from using them on the forum in the future.

Reiterating, we understand that within the context of the post and thread they were not intended to cause offence in any way - it is just not the image we want the forum and our posters to be associated with.
