Very happy with my personal performance, though disappointed I didn't stick around in the 2nd innings to allow us to post a bigger target and thus win the game. :(

Oh well, we'll bounce back and it's been shown that the Colts are no pushover this year like previous ones.

Awesome finishing by Wilson and Kerr, and great bowling, particularly from Thomas. It took four games, but Jaso is finally out for less than 50. :p

Welldone boys, it was a very good win. Our batting depth was the key this time with Thompson and Dwyer doing the damage, Kennett equally good and Amir also getting into the swing of things. Overall good performance

Cricket Web Red v Cricket Web Green
CWBCC Stadium

Scorecard
Ball by Ball

Perfectly-paced and hardfought, Cricket Web Green chased victory against Cricket Web Red expertly to win by 5 wickets in front of their home crowd. A wet outfield and gloomy skies ensured that runs were never easy to score, but both teams played admirably in the conditions to present the large audience at hand with a highly competitive fixture.

Again Matt Luff was key to CW Red fortunes. He did not reach a century on this occasion, but in scoring 77 from 103 balls, he dropped an anchor that allowed other batsmen to play around. But despite that freedom, no batsman could master the bowling on a slow wicket and slower outfield. Bryce Cunningham utilized the conditions well, bowling offcutters from a reduced run-up and showing great improvisational skill in the process. He took 3 for 32 as the clear standout, though Ethan McNamara was also very sharp with 2 for 42. All the Reds got who came to the crease got some measure of a start, but no one dominated. Mørk and Reddlapalli were in at the end, trying to add some urgency with a partnership of 27 from 29 balls and against some excellent death bowling.

The eventual total of 230-6 look a tricky ask for CW Green to surpass, and for much of their innings the heat was definitely on. Darren Dubb-Lynch and Andrew Garven were careful in sculpting a partnership of 53 for the first wicket, taking no risks against the CW Red opening bowlers. As such it was to the shock of all when Garven threw away his wicket flashing loosely at Kennett. Out for 19, his dismissal triggered a miniature collapse. Nick Scott and Anthony Lezama followed in quick succession to leave the score at 72-3. The youth of Ben Read and the relative experience of Dubb-Lynch then took action in synergy toward revival.

The partnership was steady for the cause, keeping risks to a minimum and focusing more on getting set at the crease and rotating the strike. By the end of the 33rd over, the required run rate was over 6 with 103 runs needed from the final 102 balls. The batsmen took their cue to play with more vigor, and succeeded in scoring 24 off the next 3 overs. Entering the 39th over, the equation read 73 from 72. But Dubb-Lynch and Read were well-set and confident. Read mirrored his partner's earlier feat in raising his half-century, then each batsmen scored a boundary off Raghav's last over. To start the final slog, Read swung Bennett over cow corner for six. But when Dubb-Lynch tried to do the same later in the over, he was smartly stumped by Mørk, supplying a lifeline to CW Red.

Martyn Corrin came to the crease and looked in a hurry from the start. He paddled Thompson fine for a boundary to take 7 off the 42nd over, then was dropped by Kenny Dobson at backward point, cutting Bennett in the air. Corrin compounded matters in slogging 7 runs from 3 balls in Thompson's next over, as the required run rate plumeted to 4. Needlessly, Read was caught at long-off looking to hit a slower ball from Amir, and again CW Red sniffed some opportunity with Xavier Rose coming to the crease. But Rose has played his part well with the bat this season, and he looked the picture of perfection in driving Amir through the covers for a boundary.

CW Green needed 14 from the final 5 overs and with the security of such an easy chase at his back, Corrin launched into Kennett to score three consecutive boundaries and win the game quickly and in style. He finished unbeaten on 31 from only 17 balls, with 5 boundaries to his name.

Cricket Web Red 230-6 (50 overs)
MD Luff 77 [103], GKK Dobson 31 [47], SA Bennett 29 [59]
BC Cunningham 3-32 [10], EAP McNamara 2-42 [10]

Cricket Web Green 231-5 (46 overs)
DY Dubb-Lynch 78 [112], BS Read 71 [77], M Corrin 31* [17]
M Reddlapalli 1-29 [6]

Cricket Web Green won by 5 wickets.
Man of the Match: BS Read

Cricket Web Blue v Cricket Web Colts
Fardin Quyyami Stadium

Scorecard
Ball by Ball

A stunning bowling performance by Jack McNamara shone brighter than any other contribution on the day, as the Cricket Web Colts recovered from their humiliating loss against the Blacks to post a 16-run win over Cricket Web Blue.

McNamara boasted clever variations of pace in delivering his 10 overs for 32 runs and taking the key wickets of Sean Fuller and Robert Cribb. The spell kept the Blues in check after they were off to a brisk start in the chase of 268 for victory. None of the batsmen could properly size up McNamara's steady fingerspin and his first 8 overs went for 21 runs. The innings slowed right down and batsmen were forced to take risks to try to get things moving again. In so doing, wickets fell often enough to stunt the chase. Rob Bowen hit a towering six and succeeded in pressing for 10 runs from McNamara's 9th over, but the left-armer returned to allow only 2 runs from his 10th.

None of the other Colts bowlers performed with such mesmerizing effect, as even Tarick Weber was was handled with relative ease. But the seamers returned well from poor early spells and against some aggressive biffing. Thamba Mamesh (57) and Jack Ullungura (42) took up the attack at the start of the innings, then Rob Bowen did so toward the end. Bowen scored 51 from 73 balls to continue his good form this season. May-Quinlan looked a worthy partner after a steady 27 from Wilshere, and the young man hit 4 boundaries in 20 from 13 balls. The required rate hovered over the 7-run mark when Wilson ended May-Quinlan's cameo. Hopgood was cleverly placed at a wide lone slip, and he dived full stretch to hold the ball.

The wicket slowed the CW Blue charge dramatically, resulting first in the requirement ballooning to 10, then in the dismissal of Bowen. In Bowen stood the last recognized batsman, and with him went Blue hopes. Travis Demeza fashioned an agricultural slog for a first-ball boundary over the bowler head, but neither he nor Matt Smith could properly address the equation at hand. Hancock and Wright finished off to allow just 6 runs from the final 2 overs of the innings.

Earlier Sean Fuller dropped 3 of a total of 4 catches in an innings of 267-7 by the Colts. The CW Blue captain bowled well to return 3 for 48, but crucially missed Bharat twice on her way to a top score of 54, and Wilson once on his way to 37. Cribb made the earliest mistake though, dropping Jasotharan when he had 1. The wicketkeeper-batsman was eventually out for 34 from 36 balls. For all their shortcomings in the field, the Blues did well to limit the score in the end, though Nick Hancock played a positive cameo in the final stages. Demeza was very effective with the old ball, taking 3-44 in his 10-over set. Catches win matches, and the missed opportunities haunted CW Blue in the end result.

Cricket Web Colts 267-7 (50 overs)
P Bharat 54 [83], M Hopgood 42 [49], MW Wilson 37 [45]

Blue! ... Captain courageous ... catch the ball ^^

Three'fa, in a one dayer, unheard of from myself so that's pleasing. But to let the colts, of all teams, beat us in a one dayer is very disheartening. Should've made that target even with the dropped catches, Jack played a big part in that, solid performance by him :(

Good stuff Reds, and then not so good stuff in the OD game, happy with a 50 in FC but really need to work on my OD style. 230 was never going to be enough on that oval.

Good solid win, good to see Dubb-Lynch book his spot at the top of the order with a very solid performance.

Hmm, not the best couple of results there. Both games we could well have won, but we just weren't able to quite get there.

Not a good performance in the FC game, but a good win for the OD team.

Decent bowling performance from myself.
