Norwood's on Fire
Yeah, distraught about our FC position, and I hold my hands up and say my scores have been very poor.

Very pleased with our OD status though, let's hope we can keep it up

Such a strong outfit. Amazing stuff to be at the other end while Goughy went nuts. 6 wickets in an OD game is outstanding.

Cricket Web Black v Cricket Web Green
CWBCC Stadium

Scorecard
Ball by Ball

Cricket Web Black almost pulled off a stunning win at the CWBCC Stadium, but a clutch final over performance by Xavier Rose held on for victory for Cricket Web Green. The Blacks came close to chasing 116 from the final 82 balls of the innings, but could only score 6 of the 8 required from the 50th over, against the professional effort of Rose.

Ben Read (79) and Martyn Corrin (47 not out) set things up for the Greens after Kev Gough stunted a positive start by the openers. Gough grabbed the wickets of Dubb-Lynch and Scott after a promising stand of 31 for the first wicket. The legspin of Pickup contributed with the wicket of Garven for 32, though the veteran bowler was largely ineffective on the day. After Read and Lezama added 65 for the fourth wicket, Read and Corrin put on 78. Halsey then scored an urgent 14 not out, and he and Corrin put on 29 in the final 4 overs of the innings, taking the total to a very competitive 252-5.

The CW Black openers started sedately, but broke loose to score 54 runs in the first 11 overs of the innings. Garven called Halsey into the attack in place of Cunningham, and spin prompted a trick and the wicket of Markus for 31. Runscoring slowed dramatically, then Halsey bowled Cloete for 17 at 94-2. The required run rate had passed 7.5 by the time Stedman got to fifty, and he was caught at long-off for 51 attempting to address it. Armstrong settled at the crease with a boundary first ball, and he and Chaulk set up a thrilling finale in taking 18 from Cameron's 6th over, the 37th.

At that stage 99 runs were needed from the final 78 balls. Between Garven and Halsey, CW Black were able to take 29 runs from the next 4 overs, and Corrin was summoned to service for the 42nd over. The ploy worked, as Chaulk holed out to deep extra cover for 46. In his following over Corrin added the wicket of Armstrong for the same score, snapped up behind the stumps by Lezama. And even as Gelman was out for 3, captain Smith and Richards kept hopes alive with a partnership of 29 off 23 balls heading into the final over. Only 8 runs were needed then, but Rose emerged fit for the challenge and allowed only a boundary from the final three balls of the game.

Cricket Web Blue v Cricket Web Red
CW Oval

Scorecard
Ball by Ball

Discipline from the Cricket Web Red seamers structured an overwhelming victory over Cricket Web Blue at the CW Oval. The margin was a large 84 runs, but the difference between the teams was even more blatant. After the Blues wasted good bowling conditions, the Red bowlers were accurate and incisive, and the Blues could never gather any momentum in chasing victory.

Again Dunn and Smith were the oustanding bowlers for CW Blue, taking 3-39 and 2-32 respectively while the more experienced Camps, Demeza and Fuller struggled. Matt Luff and Kenny Dobson did the notable damage in the name of CW Red. Luff was aggressive and hit 12 fours in 74 from 77 balls. Meanwhile Dobson played a more conservative role, but was crucial in contributing 76 from 102 balls. The rest of the lineup faltered, barring Kearsley (29), Bennett (20) and Mørk (18 not out), and CW Red settled for 255-9 from their 50 overs.

But CW Blue were never really given a chance in the second half of the game. Metronomical accuracy partnered fierce aggression from CW Red. After 3 overs the Blues were yet to score and had already lost the wicket of their captain to Watt. The next 7 overs brought 13 runs and the wicket of Young. After 10, the required run rate had reached 6.1, as CW only posted 13-2. DeSilva and Clapham rebuilt steadily against the less threatening Clapham and Robbins, but the former sprung into form with a sharp in-dipper to trap DeSilva lbw for 28. He produced an outswinger in his next over to remove Crampton for 20 and the Blues were all but out of contention at 66-4 by the end of the 21st over.

Cribb and Fuller showed some heart with a partnership of 54 for the fifth wicket, but it was hardly to any avail. Both were out to Robbins, and Clapham added two wickets to his haul to end with 4. CW Blue collapsed to 171 all out by the 43rd over.

Cricket Web Red 255-9 (50 overs)
MD Luff 74 [77], GKK Dobson 76 [102], DA Kearsley 29 [32]
RG Dunn 3-39 [10], MJ Smith 2-32 [10]

Cricket Web Blue 171 all out (42.3 overs)
SE Fuller 46 [57], RGEWS Cribb 36 [44], MW DeSilva 28 [44]
KR Clapham 4-50 [8.3], DJ Watt 3-27 [9], MJ Robbins 3-35 [10]

Cricket Web Red won by 84 runs.
Man of the Match: MD Luff

That has to be the best opening spell in a long while. Ten runs and two wickets off the first 51 deliveries.

Pleased with my own knock. Luffy was outstanding, Kenny and Kears battled well, Rob was a victim of classic aggression. Can't believe Kennett went wicketless either, the world is a cruel place.

Nayak made a nice application for grade cricket, too. (harsh but fair IMO)

Unofficially, that makes the table

Green 26 (+0.01), Red 22 (+a bit) Black 19 (+0.65-ish), Colts 17 (-0.61), Blue 15 (-0.2-ish).

We've been here before, Reds...in qualifying position in both forms...
