Cricket Web Blue v Cricket Web Colts
Fardin Qayyumi CC

Scorecard
Ball by Ball

The insatiable form of Pete Young continued, and a commanding career-best hundred carried Cricket Web Blue to a crushing win over Cricket Web Colts. Young slammed 13 boundaries and scored 135 not out from 157 balls. Largely as a result of his brilliance, the Blues cruised to victory by 9 wickets.

The pitch never easily allowed timing of the ball, and Shan Jasotharan and Daniel Towns struggled to gather momentum through an opening stand of 75. After Camps opened the door with the dismissal of Towns for 40, Sean Fuller took control with the ball, grabbing another 3 wickets to further his stand-out season with the ball. Though the batsmanship through the innings was solid, never did it err on the end of spectacularity. This is not to take away from Mike Wilson innings though. He scored 55 from 55 balls (dropped by Crampton on 28), with 2 fours and 2 sixes to revive a sluggish innings. In partnership with Tarick Weber (35 from 32 balls), Wilson helped the Colts to a competitive score of 237-6.

In contrast to that of the Colts, the Blues started in rather confident fashion. The Colts' opening stand of 75 took 21 overs to be completed, but CW Blue received a 76-run opening boost in the space of 15 overs. Young dominated the stand, then Fuller was bowled for 25. Camps took his place at the crease, started uneasily, then gathered confidence. None of the Colts bowlers could exert any control or pressure on proceedings, and CW Blue rushed along toward the total. Young raised his hundred with a swept single off Weber, having faced 119 balls to get there. Camps then flicked Wilson past midwicket for 3 runs to reach his milestone. But it was no act of the bat, but a wide from Colts captain Kyle Wright, that ended the game.

Cricket Web Colts 237-6 (50 overs)
MW Wilson 55 [55], MR Hopgood 49 [71], DP Towns 40 [66]
SE Fuller 3-39 [10]

Cricket Web Blue 238-1 (46.2 overs)
PE Young 135* [157], LA Camps 57* [82], SE Fuller 25 [39]
MW Wilson 1-38 [8]

Cricket Web Blue won by 9 wickets.
Man of the Match: PE Young

Cricket Web Red v Cricket Web Green
CWBCC Stadium

Scorecard
Ball by Ball

Electric fielding in the late overs stole a result for Cricket Web Red, as Cricket Web Green suffered another defeat in their press to remain atop the one-day standings. Two run outs and a brilliant catch came up trumps in a 15-run win for the Reds.

Early swing set the Greens back at the hands of Kennett and Watt. CW Green struggled at 35-4 when Ben Read joined Martyn Corrin at the crease. Read was given out lbw for 46, and Garven came to the middle. Though runs were never easy to come by, CW Green looked to have the game well in hand while Corrin and Garven were playing well. The equation was reduced to 45 runs needed from 47 balls, then Dwyer crucially yorked Garven with a quick and flat offbreak. An over later Kearsley was in the action, hitting the stumps on the full from backward point, running out Halsey in spectacular fashion. Then the brave Corrin was finally caught at midwicket by Luff, mere minutes after the same fielder dropped him.

Corrin made 85, but was the third wicket to fall to the controlled pace of Watt. The procession continued as Kearsley plucked the ball out of the air one-handed to dismiss Cunningham and the game was over 7 balls later, due another excellent piece of fielding. Dwyer hit the stumps underhand from mid-on, removing Xavier Rose for 17.

Earlier in the game, Rose and Cunningham were brilliant with the new ball, and CW Red scored only 39 runs from the first 17 overs of the innings. Rob Dauth had 8 off 26 balls, but smashed the next ball from Mitchell to the square leg boundary to get rolling. After his sluggish start he notched 88 runs from 91 balls. With captain Moerk he added 91 for the fourth wicket, then was caught behind off Halsey for 96. It was Halsey's third wicket of fine bowling showpiece. Moerk continued to the innings end, scoring 52 from 65 balls as the anchor to 226-4. The score looked very attainable until late on, but as has been a trend of late, the Reds pulled out a victory in the most intense of pressure circumstances.

Great result!!! Gun bowling from the Dave show, and a more than welcome return to form from Dauth.

Pete is a superstar and was far too dominant for the colts.

9 wicket win chasing > 200 in a OD'er doesn't come around often, what a rolling.

Bit bummed to be wicketless, again, but atleast my economy rate was almost useful. Well bowled Fuller :)

Awesome stuff guys, proud of your efforts. Quite unfortunate for Dauthy to miss out on his ton, but well played to both our wicket takers. Mork doing quite well too, overall well played all.
