Might retire on that note. Awesome win. Smith a bit stiff to miss out on MOTM, but just chuffed to have my first 5 wicket haul in four or five seasons of Dev League.
And I just had a nice piggy back. Bowling in partnerships; they call it.

Carn the Green boys!!

Sorry, but not being able to post means you're counted as inactive and not playing. Might get some game time as we near the end of the season though.

Also, you'll be playing for Nixonstown Foxes in grade cricket from now on.

Cricket Web Red vs Cricket Web Colts
5D - Manuel Ramprakash Trophy - CW Oval

Scorecard
Ball by Ball

Table-toppers Cricket Web Red put in another confident showing at home to thrash Cricket Web Colts by an innings and 45 runs. A large first innings score was set up by a big David Kearsley hundred, and with such an excellent start, the Red fast bowlers applied pressure and tumbled the Colts batting twice in the space of two days.

Kyle Wright was left to rue his decision to bowl first, though the pitch seemed to suggest that it would help the fast bowlers. His charges did not respond, however, and the top five Red batsmen feasted on some loose bowling on day one. The leading player was Kearsley, who lashed 17 fours and a six in his stay at the crease. He shared a significant partnership of 99 with John Heads (48), but more impressive was the stand with Gaurav Nayak. Not for the first time, Nayak played an aggressive and effective innings to turn a balanced match into a lopsided one. The knock was only 81 balls long, but contained 13 boundaries, and the allrounder looked good for a century, then supplied a thin bottom edge to the wicketkeeper. Nayak was out for 90 and left Kearsley with a resilient tail-end to build on his century.

But even as Kearsley was caught behind for a hefty 160, the Reds stuck around and frustrated further. They added 58 for the final wicket due to a career-high of 40 from Raghav. So outstanding was the domination that the Reds declared with 9 wickets down at the end of day two. In the three overs before stumps CW Red could not take a wicket, but remained in total control. That fact was clearer stated on the third morning when Raghav struck twice in his first two overs. The pleasant start gave way to one of his best spells of the season, and Raghav finished with 4 for 67 to lead the CW Red charge.

Several Colts tried to get going, including the in-form Chris Butler, but after a very promising start to his innings, he perished to the fast medium pace of Nayak. His knack for taking wickets soon continued when he dismissed Bosco Fitzsimmons for an innings top score of 66. Nayak rounded off an excellent first innings with a 3-wicket haul, and CW Colts were all out for 301. They trailed by 266, so Mørk asked them to follow on. And by day three stumps Colts kept interest alive, unbeaten on 48.

Hope remained alive when the visitors resumed on the fourth day. But by lunch time they had lost 6 wickets, half of which were taken by Muhammad Amir. The situation got progressively more unpleasant through the afternoon, and despite another brave innings by Will Kerr (57), the match was complete in the 63rd over.

Masters XI vs Cricket Web Black
5D - Manuel Ramprakash Trophy - Casston Reserve

Scorecard
Ball by Ball

While Cricket Web Red were busy piling on runs against Cricket Web Colts, Cricket Web Black felt the pressure to do the same when they chose to bat first at Casston Reserve. But despite good conditions to do so, they floundered in the hot sun and were bowled out for 200 on a near cloudless day one. Cameron Burge hit 65 from 60 balls, but got no more support and the Blacks were left to chase the match.

Two new ball wickets from Nick Borcich supplied hope, and when the spinners got in the mix, the Masters XI score was 106-4. The fight was promising, but it was shaken first by attacking batting from the middle order, and ultimately undone by an immense late order performance. Kenyan Thomas Odoyo topped the totals with 92 and put on 74 with Shane Warne (38) and 61 with Shane Bond (21). Masters XI improved to a lead of 220 and prepared to boss the match when they took the ball on the third morning.

The hero of a couple days earlier, Burge lasted just 6 balls in his second knock and was bowled by Tyron Henderson for 2. Only one more wicket fell before tea - the skipper for 27 - so CW Black remained barely above water on 152-2 at tea. A good final session followed for Masters XI and by stumps only Andrew Cloete realistically stood in the way of a crushing defeat of CW Black. He did so with awesome stature, however, and walked in with 162 by his name. The Masters XI duly chipped away at the required wickets the following day, but had to wait until the post-lunch session to get the prized scalp. Only then was Cloete undone, missing a full and fast ball from Bond and out for 232. The epic innings allowed a decent lead for CW Black and encouraged an exciting finish to the match.

Indeed, Masters XI still required 177 runs in the final innings and lost Imran Farhat (3) in the first over. But although the bounce proved inconsistent, it was hardly easy for the Black bowlers against some very determined batting. SS Das was rarely pretty, but very effective, and scored 43 runs to carry the score past 100. He was lbw to Borcich on 102-2, then Dale Benkenstein fell victim to Patrick for 61. A ball later Ronchi injected life back into the match by smacking a Patrick short ball straight to midwicket, but his daft shot was not enough to truly inspire the Blacks. Klusener batted well enough to hold down an end, and Lara took on the bowlers in an exciting and matchwinning cameo of 46 from 37 balls.

Cricket Web Black 1st Innings 200 all out
Burge 65, Richards 21, Warne 4-38, Odoyo 2-36
Masters XI 1st Innings 440 all out
Odoyo 92, Klusener 49, Borcich 4-134, Donald 2-71
Cricket Web Black 2nd Innings 416 all out
Cloete 232, Blackman 36, Henderson 3-54, Bond 3-123
Masters XI 2nd Innings 177 for 4
Benkenstein 61, Lara 46*, Patrick 3-43, Borcich 1-47
Masters XI won by 6 wkts.

Cricket Web Green vs Cricket Web Blue
5D - Manuel Ramprakash Trophy - CWBCC Stadium

Scorecard
Ball by Ball

Perhaps the best player in the world, Sean Fuller was in excellent allround form to arrest the Cricket Web Blue slide with a win at CWBCC Stadium. The allrounder was elevated to the top of the order to maximize on his excellent batting form, and on day one the move paid big dividends. While most faltered around him, Fuller scored a magnificent 120 of a total of 320. Admittedly he had a lot of luck, when Garven dropped the simplest of chances in the slips, to let him off on 3, but was sublime otherwise.

Fuller was not the lone hero of the hour, however. Alex Crampton supplied another crucial half-century with the help of a defiant tail. Unfortunately he fell short of his century by 1 run, but it took a good sharp lifting from Rose to do so. In their innings, CW Green did not even finish the first over before they had lost 2 wickets. Travis Demeza accounted for Rob Malone and Jay Gonzalez before they had scored, and then had Nick Scott caught behind for 14. The Blue captain threatened to tear the innings apart, and though he proceeded to take 7 wickets, there was a bit of a revival for the home team. Andrew Garven crucially scored 67 to keep CW Green in the hunt somewhat, and the final score of 201 left a deficit of 119.

CW Blue started their second innings tentatively, in the knowledge of previous losses from even stronger positions. As such they looked to Fuller again to guide the effort. He did so without offering a chance, and added 75 to his first innings ton. Support came from Stephen Young (37) and Rob Cribb (58), but CW Blue suffered a mini-collapse due a Mitchell brace, and at 200-5, the game was still alive. Again Crampton put his head down and dominated the runscoring for the remainder of the innings. An innings of 80 appeared absolutely crucial to the cause, as it carried CW Blue over 300 in the innings and took the target over 400.

Faced with 433 the CW Green top order again crumbled against the discipline of CW Blue. The bowlers hit the right cracks on a consistent basis and were firmly on top by the time Callum Dinnen departed for 1 - 67/5. Martyn Corrin arrived to offer his trademark brave knock, in support of Malone, who was well on his way to a ton. On 110 Malone chipped a catch back to Popat, as the legspinner went on to take 3-37 and hurry the end. It looked as though Corrin would end not out for the second time in the game, but he was the 10th wicket to fall, caught well at slip by Cribb.

Cricket Web Blue 1st Innings 320 all out
Fuller 120, Crampton 99, Cunningham 4-52, Rose 3-62
Cricket Web Green 1st Innings 201 all out
Garven 67, Mamesh 34, Demeza 7-87, Fuller 2-41
Cricket Web Blue 2nd Innings 314 all out
Crampton 80, Fuller 75, Mitchell 4-66, Rose 3-75
Cricket Web Green 2nd Innings 218 all out
Malone 110, Corrin 70, Popat 3-37, Demeza 3-52
Cricket Web Blue won by 215 runs.

Owned. That'll get us off the bottom :)

Love Fuller. Agreed that he's the best player in the world. Pete may be struggling to get back his opening spot now ;) Might have to settle for 3 :p

Happy with my first 10'fer for the season.

Fantastic win there. Especially after the Colts pumped us the last couple of times we played, to come back with that performance, priceless.

Pretty spineless effort that, from the bowlers and batsmen alike. Their first innings lower order was just ridiculous. :( Well batted In Burges and Cloete almost set up a miracle.

We are on some sort of a losing streak atm, losing in both forms, its starting to get a bit annoying tbh.
