Very pleased with that one. The more experienced side should have won. Excellent stuff from Kerr, who is growing by the match, also Towns was excellent in turning over the strike. Gun stuff from Pimpkins and myself, I'm forming a rather pleasing opening combo with Spinks.

Cricket Web Colts vs Cricket Web Green
5D - Manuel Ramprakash Trophy - Fardin Qayyumi CC

Scorecard
Ball by Ball

Greg Thomas knocked back eleven Cricket Web Green batsmen in a big win for Cricket Web Colts. Fast and furious and near his best, Thomas finished with match figures of 11 for 138. The Colts ended winners by 273, twice batting better than their opponents on an, admittedly, good consistent pitch.

The first innings was set up nicely by opener Dan Rai, who announced himself with a booming cover drive and went on to hit 13 fours and a straight six. He was bowled by Mat Mitchell for 84, but at his demise CW Colts only had 137-3. The remaining batsmen all started well and with promise, but none other than Mike Wilson truly got going. Even he only managed 43 and CW Colts were bowled out for 295. Significantly Thomas got away with the bat and hit 16 from 19 balls to start his confidence simmering. That confidence bubbled over by the time he had the ball in hand. Kyle Wright started with the wicket of Rob Malone before he had scored, then Thomas took two more before the Greens reached stumps on 32-3. And the following morning Colts moved from strength to strength and took 5 wickets before the interval. Bryce Cunningham stood firm with 54 from 59 balls, but CW Green were dismissed 115 short of CW Colts. Thomas took 6 for 77, though he went for almost 7 per over.

To keep the game alive, CW Green sought early wickets. But as they fought to break through, the Colts played positively to maintain their grip on the match. At 145-5 the lead was only 260 and the Greens would have fancied their chances. The fightback was far from complete, however, and Daniel Towns (88) played solidly to ensure that it remained so. While he dug deep at the crease, Andy Pimpkins breezed his way to 53 from 29. After he was out Fjermestad continued the aggressive play in a cameo of 45. Wright had no intention of declaring and instead the Colts batted out to 344. That left CW Green needing to score 460 to win with well over two days to do so.

The pressure was clearly on and clearly in the minds of the top order, as they crumbled again against the Colts pacers. By the 12th over Thomas had 4 wickets and a 10-wicket match bag. A series of dropped catches let the Greens off the hook briefly, but Weber fired through with 3 wickets and threatened to hurry the end. Mitchell denied that notion and complemented Xavier Rose in a partnership of 70. Rose was the aggressor and finished not out on 61 when his team's fate was sealed by 273 runs.

Cricket Web Blue vs Cricket Web Black
5D - Manuel Ramprakash Trophy - PDV Dome

Scorecard
Ball by Ball

The international stars of Cricket Web Blue took centre stage at the Dome to overwhelm Cricket Web Black by an innings and 87 runs. The Black train continued to slip off the tracks, started by a poor first innings performance after they won the toss. Though the pitch looked good for batting, they were bruised and broken by Travis Demeza and his 6-wicket haul. And while they hoped for a large score when they decided to bat, the Blacks were limited to 178 all out in the space of 35.1 overs. Ash Chaulk's 56 came to little and he was 9th out in the small total.

Nath Patrick hit back with the wicket of Stephen Young (7), but Sean Fuller eased into his stride to continue his inhuman form. The Black bowlers struggled to maintain their control, but limited the Blues to 161 for 4 at the end of the day. Fuller stood his ground on 72 and moved on with similar authority the following day. His century was inevitable and celebrated with some vigor, but hardly as much as greeted Rob Bowen and his fiery chanceless ton from 86 balls. Both batsmen savagely dealt with the progressively sloppier Blacks and piled on 293 for the fifth wicket. Their partnership effectively took the game out of the reach of CW Black. But even as Bowen was felled for 170, the Blues pushed on with their dominance. Sam Morris took the opportunity to cash in with a half-century, and in so doing he ******ed Fuller to an overdue maiden first-class double hundred.

Ultimately the Blues declared on 547-6 and Fuller was left unbeaten on 207. The Blacks trailed by 369 and faced 15 overs until stumps and then a further 3 days to avoid defeat. They almost made it to day two stumps without loss, but Dan Smith received a jaffa from Manan Shah and walked for 11. Joshua Ritchie continued to bat positively on the third morning and brought up his fifty in the process. But for all their attacking intentions, the Black magic of yesteryear was obviously absent. Cameron Burge chipped in a brisk fifty of his own, but Demeza pressed on with the ball and bowled Dave Richards for his 10th wicket of the match. Back to the wall, Borcich tried his best to restore some semblance of pride. To his credit, he scored 43 and the Blacks elevated to 282 all out.

Cricket Web Black 1st Innings 178 all out
Chaulk 56, Richards 31, Demeza 6-52, Fuller 2-32
Cricket Web Blue 1st Innings 547 for 6 dec.

Cricket Web Red vs Masters XI
5D - Manuel Ramprakash Trophy - CW Oval

Scorecard
Ball by Ball

Masters XI paid Cricket Web Black a huge favour thrashing Cricket Web Red to keep them close in the first class table. It would have been a crushing blow to the Black title hopes had the Reds notched another result, but Masters XI were thoroughly dominant in their victory by 314 runs.

Twice in the game SS Das and Brian Lara took the game away from the Red bowlers with impressive, if contrasting innings. In the first innings they each hit half-centuries to set up a total of 285. While Lara attacked to hit 14 fours in his 76, from 79 balls, Das took his time in comparison, facing 147 balls for his 80. David Kennett did his best to keep the Masters XI close, and his 5 wickets were important in limiting the score under 300. In reply the Reds squandered their chances, however. They recovered from 0-1 to 74-1, then a Shane Warne brace set them back. The blonde bombshell handed over to his namesake, Bond, and the New Zealand paceman shot through the batting to claim 6 for 53. John Heads stood his ground with 41, but after he did all the hard work he lobbed an easy catch to Lara in the covers.

The Masters XI led by 95 when they started again, and raced to 29 in the 4th over. On that score Imran Farhat was out to Amir for 25. Dale Benkenstein hit the first two balls he saw - wide outside offstump - for boundaries, then he too returned to the pavilion at the hands of Amir. Lara arrived at the crease in emphatic form to apply salt to an already wounded CW Red. His 50 cost 44 balls, his 100 90, and then he raced to 150 from 130. Opposite him Das was much more careful for a large score of his own. Of the six bowlers used by CW Red, only Gaurav Nayak offered any sort of penetration, and added 4 wickets to his first innings 2. However, Heads was also quite impressive as he stuck to his task with a defensive spell of bowling. Masters XI showed no mercy and totaled 516 before they lost their 10th wicket.

A target of 612 was well out of reasonable reach, and the Reds looked primed to be humiliated after a Lance Klusener hat-trick left them on the rocks. There was some fight yet, but all that remained to be seen was the extent of personal accomplishments. Even those were laced with disappointment. David Kearsley fell short of a ton by 4 runs, and though Nayak and Bennett played well for dazzling half-centuries, both gave away their wickets with daft shots. CW Red were overwhelmed and defeated 5 balls after tea on day four.

Masters XI 1st Innings 285 all out
Das 80, Lara 76, Kennett 5-63, Nayak 2-35
Cricket Web Red 1st Innings 190 all out
Luff 48, Heads 41, Bond 6-53, Warne 3-72
Masters XI 2nd Innings 516 all out
Das 164, Lara 155, Nayak 4-89, Heads 2-48
Cricket Web Red 2nd Innings 297 all out
Kearsley 96, Nayak 71, Klusener 4-50, Rankin 3-73
Masters XI won by 314 runs.

well that was ****, ****ing colts :@
:)

That was an excellent win, and a truly spectacular performance from Thomas. Batsmen all provided something and the bowlers supported Thomas well. That win, and the Black and Red losses should help us on the table. After some poor performances in both forms, it's good to hit back with some big wins.

What the **** was that, Black. Do you guys just not care anymore? That was a totally abject performance.

Find some pride in your shirt and support your Captain, boys.
