Three new names in CW XI ODI squad

Brendan Goff will lead a 15-man squad in the 3-match one-day international series against Australia. The party sees the inclusion of three new faces. Nick Hancock of the Cricket Web Colts and top allround prospect, Sean Fuller get their first shot at international cricket for the senior side.

The third new addition to the squad is Rob Dauth. Considered one of the best young batsmen in CWLand, Dauth has had problems with discipline in the past, but now graduates to the senior side with a chance to impress against the country of his birth.

Also included in the squad is Marc Robbins, who returns after being sacked for the tour of the West Indies, due to a fall out with coach Pratyush Agarwal.

Excluded from the side that played in the Caribbean are David Kearsley, Mike Wilson, Callum Thompson and Bryce Cunningham.

CW XI ODI squad:
BJ Goff (C), AP Chaulk (wk), CR Butler, MW de Silva, NR Hancock, SE Fuller, I Markus, RJ Dauth, LA Camps, MJ Robbins, NS Hoy, XPA Rose, NL Patrick, TC Halsey, NS Pickup.

Cricket Web XI vs Australia
3rd Test match - MCG
Series 1-0 to Australia.

Nothing but a series to lose and everything to gain for the CW XI heading into the decisive third Test match.

Scorecard.
Commentary.

Great scenes here at the MCG. The hundreds of Cricket Web fans who made the trip from CWLand have not been disappointed. They've seen their team push Australia in every Test match, and end up with the prize of Test victory.

A 1-1 series result perhaps accurately reflects the competition throughout. Australia may have finished the first two Tests on top, but the heart and valour with which the tourists played their cricket certainly left a mark.

Brendan Goff's mighty innings of 170 turned this game forcefully for the Webheads, and despite the resilience of Gilchrist the second time around, the Australians couldn't muster enough against a disciplined Cricket Web XI attack.

Thamba Mamesh wasted no time in the chase, and certainly pushes his claim as one of the stars for the future.

Awesome game, awesome victory for CW. Shown that the webheads can not only beat but dominate the very best. Bodes well for the future of CW Cricket.

Great series result and last game there guys. Let's do better in the ODIs. Glad for the selection and hope my form from the West Indies will come back here.

This is very special.

Congratulations to every one and thank you for the efforts put in.

Just a side information, Marc Robbins has brought in special stuff from the CW Bar for our enjoyment.

We can think about the one day series tomorrow. Tonight is party time!

Outstanding.effort.

Big ups to our captain - I don't know if we've ever had a batsman who's played so well, with the possible exception of Fitzsimmons and Cloete back in days of yore. Magnificent. To think it's only a couple of seasons ago that everyone wanted him out, bar the selectors.

Also, good on Butler for showing that class is, indeed, permanent, and to our entire bowling attack - yes, that includes you, David - for bundling out Australia twice.

1-1. Coupling Glimt's 3-0 win today, that's made my day.

Tremendous effort from the senior test side to win in such difficult circumstances. Very few teams manage a test victory on Australian shores, and even fewer manage to draw a series against a near full-strength team, and it's a credit to our team that we managed it. Certainly, CW is no longer a minnow of international cricket, if we were before. Couple this with the win in Sri Lanka last season, and we're definately a force of note in test cricket.

On another note, thrilled to get the ODI callup. Two years of hard work in the dev league have definitely paid off. Congratulations to Hancock and Dauth also.
