Great debut for Jamee, and amzing stuff by Nicky. Slightly dissapointed with getting out for 60-odd, but hopefully I can rectify that against Red tomorrow, IIRC they were the last team I scored an FC hundred against.

Colts third, although with a game ahead of everyone...
Sucked to lose that game. Good to see Nayak back in form, however it seems with Thomas and Rai both out, our backup bowlers struggled in the first innings. Of course, batting ultimately failed, particularly our openers, who I can only encourage to join me in my increasingly lengthened net sessions.

Red ultimately prevailed in a see-saw match, showing grit, determination, and a bit of creative captaincy when David Kennett was promoted to 8 and saw out 132 balls - more than any other Red bar Marc Robbins - to shield the tail from the spinners.
Black opted to bat first, and amassed hefty scores, with Fitzsimmons, Blackman and Chaulk all contributing heavily with half-centuries. Wilson and Thompson bashed the bowlers to add a mighty quick 50 for the sixth wicket, but ultimately got out to the second new ball, which was delivered at ferocious pace by Watt and Kennett.
Red started cautiously, but lost Mamesh to a ripper of a ball from Hoy, and after Dauth went to Richards after a briefly entertaining 59, the stage looked set for trouble with Red's lower order having a rather poor record thus far, and the team still 200 behind.
However, Markus and Robbins put on an excellent stand of 130 to tug Red back into the game, and despite Richards and Hoy roaring through the tail Red only finished three runs behind on first innings. Then, once again, Watt and Kennett wrecked devastation with the new ball, as Blacks were reduced to 36 for four.
Once again, Wilson and Thompson added runs, with Gray having perished to Reddlapalli for 17, smashing Bennett out of the attack, but a run out and a wicket from Kennett put the game back in the grasp of the Reds. Robbins and Reddlapalli got the final wickets, and Black were bowled out for 164.
Set 168 to win, Red's chase was frequently interrupted by the rain, but with Mamesh and Dauth well set the target looked safe, though there were signs that the odd ball would keep low. That did not excuse the Reds, though, as Dauth threw his bat and ended up with a simple catch to Borcich, Markus ended up caught by Fitzsimmons in the deep, and Ritchie went for a golden duck fending behind. Suddenly, Red were 91 for six, and the 77 runs required for the win looked massive.
An executive decision was taken to send blocker extraordinaire, David Kennett, up the order, with license to block one end. Marc Robbins, already fresh from a fine 93, was asked to score the runs. The assignment worked very well: with help from friendly umpires, as Kennett looked dead lbw twice and Robbins once during their marathon 36-over partnership. Nevertheless, Robbins got the boundaries, hoiked a Hoy short-ball for six, took well care of Pickup, while Kennett blocked, and blocked, and blocked. He played one aggressive stroke - an attempted pull which turned out to look somewhat like a sweep, but went for two of his seven runs. He eventually was responsible for the run out of Robbins, on 64, but Manjunath Reddlapalli guided Red to yet another nailbiting victory.

In the warm-up friendly at the PDV Dome only a week ago, a similar Green bowling attack was hammered for 603 for six, before crumbling to 88 for nine. This was evidently all forgotten as Green recovered to successfully chase 391 for victory, after a masterful century from Nick Scott and a quick bash of runs from captain Andrew Garven.
Blue had chosen to bat first, but conditions were good for seamers, and Cunningham, Rose and Cameron took wickets at regular intervals, with five Blue batsmen perishing in single figures. A recovery of sorts was headed by Liam Camps, whose unbeaten 32 shepherded the tail, but Andy Cameron still claimed a five-wicket-haul.
Green opened well, with Malone and Lezama adding 46. Then the wheels fell off against Camps and Halsey, the second and third-change bowler. Five wickets fell for 11 runs, and after Garven and Cunningham added 31, the same process repeated itself against Demeza, who claimed three wickets coming back from a wicketless opening spell. Green were all out for 116, and had conceded a first innings lead of 56.
Peter Young and Brendan Goff then stood firm, though Goff survived chances on 1 and 7, batting with stature despite rarely finding the boundary. Goff's 60 included four fours: it ended comically, with Andrew Garven's slower ball hoiked down the throat of Andrew Cameron, and another Andrew, Cloete, then suffered the same fate on the next ball.
The hat-trick ball was gloved away by Fuller for a single to point, and Fuller asserted himself with some fine shots after tea to race to fifty off 74 balls. Shortly afterwards, Gundry claimed Peter Young after his third hundred this season, and Cunningham claimed a couple of wickets with the new ball before stumps were drawn.
Under cloudy skies on the third day, Currie and Crampton quickly followed, but some good shots from Halsey carried Blue to 334 and what was thought to be an imposing target of 391. However, Malone and Lezama littered the boundaries, scoring 41 in seven overs before lunch, before Fuller and Collins choked the runs and Fuller achieved the first wicket. However, pressure was not applied well, as Halsey's probing deliveries too often was launched to the boundary, while Collins provided accurate but unthreatening medium pace. Malone was out just before Scott made his half-century, and Rodgie was dropped just after tea; the latter was to be absolutely crucial. Rodgie hoiked two sixes and provided able support for a superior Scott, who remained unbeaten well into day four, and before Blue realised it, the partnership was worth 150. By the close of the third day, Green were very much in the game, requiring 104 with eight wickets in hand.
Demeza's new ball spell was stunning, claiming both settled batsmen, Bryce Cunningham, and also included a dropped catch. However, Demeza also leaked runs, and with a low target to defend the smashing 38-ball half-century from Garven proved enough to carry Green across the line with four wickets to spare.

Nice win there Greens. Pretty poor batting first time around, admittedly, but the bowling was solid in both innings, and we improved a lot in the seconds. Full credit to Scott on his century, while Rodgie was unlucky to miss out, and good stuff to Garven and Malone for their fifties as well. Personally, I'm glad to see I finally did something worthwhile with the ball. Good to get Fuller (and Trav) out.

We threw that win away. Well done to PY and Brendan and the first innings bowling from Camps, Halsey and Trav was sensational. We really should have capitalised and won that game though. I didn't help things at all though, 3 and a golden (to Garven
