It seems I do score when needed, but the rest weren't able to hold up!

Not a good way to go guys, we need everyone up and firing, otherwise we're looking at 2 spoons!

Reds in scintillating form at present. Bowling is stepping up big time. Well done to Ian, good to have another big partnership with you ;)

Scorecard
Ball By Ball

Reds' winning run was brutally brought to an end as the experienced players were marked by their absence, both due to Test call-ups but also due to poor performances from those there. Only Red stalwart Sean Bennett stood up to the medium pace of Dunn and spin from Tom Halsey, in what might well have been his last game for Blue following talks about retirement.

Blue batted first, and struggled to 33 for four after accurate spells from Nayak and Watt, but the lack of wicket-taking change bowlers was apparent. Clapham bowled five unthreatening overs on debut, Marc Robbins bowled a maiden but still got smashed for 39, and Reddlapalli was not trusted after his early two overs. Bennett and Watt were the only bowlers to pose a consistent threat throughout: however, they didn't break the de Silva/Currie-partnership, worth a hefty 148 runs. Currie's 85 bettered his previous best one-day score by 47, showing just how ineffective Red's bowling was. In the end, however, Red were set a not too threatening target of 212 for seven.

However, Ryan "Pinchy" Dunn's medium pace on a green wicket proved too much. With his first seven balls, he took three wickets, including Marc Robbins for a four-ball duck; Kenny Dobson soon followed, and Sean Bennett was left as the last recognised batsman after Dwyer nicked a ball to Young in the slips. Red were left crumbling against the spin, with Watt last out hoiking to Verghese to give Dunn his fourth wicket.

Cricket Web Blue 212 for seven (50 overs; Currie 85, de Silva 78; Watt 3/35)
Cricket Web Red 162 all out (43.3 overs; Bennett 59*; Dunn 4/36, Halsey 3/37, Currie 2/35)
Cricket Web Blue won by 50 runs
Man of the Match: M. J. C. Currie
Points: Blue 5, Red 0

Scorecard
Ball By Ball

Justin Rodgie, Rob Malone and Xavier Rose put in fine knocks to ensure that Green got a more than competitive total in their own stadium, before their bowlers once again tormented the opposition. Colts collapsed even more feebly than usual, going from 33 for nought to 80 for eight on their way to a 93-run defeat.

Earlier, Green had won the toss and batted, and though they lost wickets against McKern and Wright they kept up a solid run rate. Rodgie stuck about to make a fine 72, sharing stands of 64 with Malone and, crucially, 65 with Rose, and Gundry provided quick singles at the end to propel the total to 227 for eight.

It was more than enough. Jasotharan feebly inside edged Rose after a long day behind the stumps, and the middle order of Das, Pitt, Bharat and Malthus-Howell provided a grand total of 13 runs. Tarick Weber top scored with 35, but succumbed to the wiles of Gundry, who claimed respectable figures of five for 38.

Cricket Web Green 227 for eight (50 overs; Rodgie 72; McKern 2/41)
Cricket Web Colts 134 all out (40.5 overs; Weber 35; Gundry 5/38, Cunningham 3/21)
Cricket Web Green won by 93 runs
Man of the Match: P. G. Gundry
Points: Green 5, Colts 0

Table: Green 16pts (P4 W3 L1, NRR +1.20), Blue 15pts (P4 W3 L1, +0.73), Red 12pts (P4 W3 L1, -0.08), Colts 6pts (P4 W1 L3, -0.50), Black 1pt (P4 L4, -1.33)

Fixtures: Break tomorrow. Blue v Green @ PDV Dome, Red v Black @ CW Oval on 24 September, colliding with the Test match.

Gundry.

Good stuff from Malone and Rodgie with the bat as well, while Cunningham bowled well too.

Great batting from De Silva and Currie, we would have been royally stuffed without that partnership. Dunn and the spinners were great too, Currie thoroughly deserves MOTM.

Onya, Blue. Well done to De Silva and Currie (who "blaze"d away - get it? Oh, never mind).
