Nathan Hoy was at his irresistible best, as he transformed a dire situation into a Black victory with one of the great Dev League bowling performances. Neil Pickup opened the door with 3 quick wickets at 85-1, 88-2, and then 98-3, but it was Hoy who stole the show.

Pickup brought back the seamer to maximize upon his strike, and Hoy took 5-18 from his final 3 overs. The bowling was quick, straight and laced with devilish reverse swing, and the Reds simply could not cope. Ultimately they lost 10 wickets for 49 runs, suffering the shame of failing to chase a target of 190 that the bowlers had set up so well earlier.

Cricket Web Black 189-9 (50 overs)
JA Law 82, AJ Blackman 35; DM Kennett 3-49, SA Bennett 2-21

That one of the worst Green batting performances this season would come in front of their home crowd was shocking, but that it would also come against the Blues proved absolutely stunning. The Blues took full advantage of the struggle though, hammering home victory by 198 runs.

Cloete and Goff struck hundreds and added 245 for the second wicket, and though Goughy finished with a 4-wicket haul, CW Blue towered at 301-5.

The imposing total quickly became more out of reach for CW Green. Garven and Rodgie were quickly dealt with, and by the time the top scorer Scott was caught-and-bowled by Fuller, the score read 82-5. Not content to allow graces, the Blues took the final 5 wickets for a price of 21 runs.

Cricket Web Blue 301-5 (50 overs)
AP Cloete 134, BJ Goff 118; KJ Goughy 4-50
Cricket Web Green 103 all out (35 overs)
NG Scott 24, RJ Malone 21; TC Halsey 4-15, SE Fuller/LA Camps 2-18

Cricket Web Blue won by 198 runs.

Andrew Cloete was again in magical stride, powering Blue to a 22-run win over CW Black. Cloete faced 99 balls for his even hundred - his second ton in as many innings - and shared an opening stand of 176 with Liam Camps.

The Blues could only push on to 269-7 from the impressive platform, however, as Chris Butler was sharp enough to take 4 for 50 with his medium-pace dobblers.

In response, the Blacks were sharp early on. Camps then snared Smith with a slower delivery and the tone of the game changed sharply. None of the Black batsmen scored with any great freedom from then on, until Nathan Hoy clobbered 20 not out from 11 balls at the end.

But Hoy ran out of partners and was robbed of the opportunity to score the 23 runs required from the final 4 balls of the innings.

Cricket Web Blue 269-7 (50 overs)
AP Cloete 100, LA Camps 74; CR Butler 4-50
Cricket Web Black 247 all out (49.2 overs)
JE Stedman 67, MW Wilson 35; SE Fuller 3-32

Cricket Web Blue won by 22 runs.

The Reds cast aside their batting demons of the last match, recovering from 16-2 to attain a tiny target of 125 runs and beat the Colts. David Kearsley was out mere balls before victory was achieved, but Rob Dauth saw the game to the end. The CW XI international batted beautifully for 64 unbeaten from 62 balls.

Earlier, Dave Watt tore through the Colts top order in a 4-wicket opening burst. Playing the true captains role, Watt bowled with great pace and accuracy and had the Colts reeling at 59-6. More conscientious batting from Gary Nayak and Nick Hancock revived the innings somewhat, but the end came swiftly following their demise. The Colts had been turned over in perfect batting conditions for a modest 124.

CW Red approached the target with initial uncertainty. Though Markus clobbered the first ball of the innings over point for four, he saw his partner edge to slip the first ball he faced later in the over. Markus was then beaten by a sharp in-nipper, trapped on the crease and plumb lbw. Indeed, Wright was the only potent Colts bowler in the brief show. He claimed all three wickets to fall in the chase.

Cricket Web Colts 124 all out (36 overs)
G Nayak 32, NR Hancock 28; DJ Watt 4-31, CR Dwyer 2-8, SA Bennett 2-13
Cricket Web Red 126-3 (23.2 overs)
RJ Dauth 64*, DA Kearsley 41; KS Wright 3-39

Cricket Web Red won by 7 wickets.
