Nicely done Blue, in great form as a team at the moment. A bit too late to do much in FC, but the OD title is well within reach.

Cricket Web Red vs Cricket Web Blue

Commentary

A stunning display by Gerard Armstrong left CW Red bewildered and defeated, as he lit up the PDV Dome with 4 sixes in a decisive cameo innings. Armstrong faced 34 balls for his 46 and helped Cloete transform a struggling situation into a magnificent 3-wicket win.

Earlier it was the cameo of Mamesh that added impetus to the game. He supported a brilliant hundred by Rob Dauth with the perfect finish to the innings, scoring 45 off just 26 balls. The two batsmen picked up a sluggish Red run rate and fashioned 94 runs from the final 9 overs of the innings.

Through the explosive batting, the Reds managed to get to a very respectable score of 258-5, and when CW Blue slumped to 138-4 in the 34th over, it seemed a Red win was the most likely result.

By the start of the final 15 overs, 104 runs were need by CW Blue for victory. Cue the fireworks, and the partnership was announced with an assault on Reddlapalli. The Blues scored 36 runs off his final 3 overs, lowering the demand to 67 runs from the final 10 overs.

The following over produced a towering six for Armstrong and a flat one for Cloete, and a total of 15 runs. Still not content to ease up, Armstrong belted Bennett over midwicket in an 11-run 42nd over. It meant that the last 5 overs had produced 62 runs to the Blue momentum.

Cloete raised his third century in 4 OD matches, then saw his partner perish in a mixup. Currie came and went in the same way, but by the time Cloete missed a slower ball from Kennett to end his vigil, scores were level. Halsey then tapped the first ball he faced into the covers, scoring the winnings single.

Cricket Web Red 258-5 (50 overs)
RJ Dauth 102*, T Mamesh 45; RD Dunn 2-54
Cricket Web Blue 259-7 (49 overs)
AP Cloete 119, GAJ Armstrong 46; DM Kennett 2-39

Cricket Web Blue won by 3 wickets.
Man of the Match: AP Cloete

Commentary

Kyle Wright was in stunning form once again, and left the Greens shattered and crushed to prove it. The Colts captain bowled an opening spell that produced 5 wickets, and though Xavier Rose batted well enough for 44 not out, the visitors never recovered from the early burst.

CW Green improved from the peril of 48-6, but only so far as 143 all out - a total the Colts overhauled for the loss of just 1 wicket. Daniel Towns and Ananuva Das added 109 for the first wicket, then Pooja Bharat joined Das to take the innings home with almost 20 overs to spare.

Cricket Web Green 143 all out (44 overs)
XPA Rose 44, N Dravid 22; KS Wright 5-37
Cricket Web Colts 144-1 (30.5 overs)
AS Das 65*, DP Towns 47; XPA Rose 1-40

Cricket Web Colts won by 9 wickets.
Man of the Match: KS Wright

Another OD win, and another great Cloete knock. Someone is standing up every game though, and Armstrong has settled really well into that number 6 spot.

Green losing again means we must be close to sealing top spot for the end of the season too.

Get in there, looking stronger than ever in OD now. Our running between the wickets leaves something to be desired though.

Armstrong justifying me being dropped for him. :p

What's the most wickets taken in a single OD season? 'cause I think Kyle might break that record if things keep up. :)

Good game by the Colts - taking ten wickets and only losing one (damn you, Rose!), can't ask for much more than that!

Disappointing loss there, but what can you do when the best batsmen in the country is on fire. Some positive signs for the Reds, scoring over 200. I think that might be my 2nd highest score in Dev League One Dayers for the Reds, hopefully its a sign of things to come.

Damn you Cloete. Pretty poor to be honest, though we were in a position where we should have won. That's slightly better than never being in that position.
