Do the songs Howzat by Sherbert and The Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits count?

If not, it's marvellous by the 12th man :D

Soul Limbo - Booker T and The MGs
Mambo Number Five - Lou Bega
IDLCYILI - can anyone tell me who that was by, apart from the old United Colours Of Sound?
I Do I Do I Do I Do I Do - Abba
Smile To Shine - "Baz"
Proud - Heather Small
Wherever You Will Go - The Calling
All Right Now - Rod Stuart
Sit Down - "James"
Some fantastic Michael Jackson song that I really want to find-out what it's called so I can download it.
What A Feeling - Irene Cara
Why Did You Do It - Stretch
Sultans Of Swing - Dire Straits
And of course all the old dance classics - That's The Way (I Like It), KC And The Sunshine Band; that one that always goes with it; Moving On Up, M People; A Little Bit More, Gina G, Beverley Hills Cop themetune; I'm The Leader Of The Gang, Child Porn Bloke, etc.
Some great cricket songs, but never knowingly heard Howzat by Sherbet.

1) Explain the Quotation Marks?!

James came from the name of founder member and bassist Jim Glennie after several different and rather poor names (Model Team International was the best, that says all you need to know), when they decided they needed something simple...

:)

And how is Sit Down related to cricket? I hope you're not mentioning the 1998 Apollo Four Forty remix, because that sounded like someone farting their way through Imagine.. definitive version for me atm is 1990/1 (?) Manchester G-Mex, with the 2001 MEN Arena on a par.

:)

Nonetheless, my estimation of you has gone up several notches..

Well, I am now more clued-up on the band James than I was before.:)
The only reason for the "s was that I hadn't heard that, and it seemed an odd name for a band.
The connotations with Sit Down and cricket is that it was the most played music at National League games in 2001 (other favourites were What A Feeling, All Right Now, that MJ song, all the dance classics, C'est La Vie, Tragedy and another song that I haven't a clue what it's called)

How's about Ajit Agarkar's favourite song against Australia (well, it should have been played whenever he went out to bat) : "Walk right back"

The greatest cricket song ever is David Rudder's Rally 'Round the West Indies (Pt 1 and 2):

"Pretty soon the runs are gonna flow again like water
Bringing so much joy to each and every sun and daughter.
Say we gonna rise again like a raging fire
As the sun shines you know we goin take it higher.
But we got to Rally
Rally 'Round the West Indies'
Now and forever."

Just a clip of one of the most inspirational songs in existence.
