Best of The Best

1. Shahid Afridi Award for (Best post of the week) Like an innings by the great man, it does not have to be very long, to be great viewing. And the Winner is: Matt79 for this click here what most of us were thinking

2. Shane Warne Award for (Best thread of the week) Like his bowling it must be interesting but just like his private life it can also be controversial. And the Winner is rajeev for this click here , Very topical, and well debated thread (on the whole)

3. The Skull Award (Funniest poster for the week) Just like the king of the one liner Kerry O’Keefe, can also be serious. And the Winner is: silentstriker for this click here I don’t get it? But Marc tells me it’s funny!
Special mention to Matt79, the first and best SW joke (I think we had about a bakers dozen click here

4. The Sobers Award (Most varied poster of the week) The true all-rounder of CW you must be able to contribute to a number of threads. And the Winner is: Perm , a second good week of posting, good to see.

5. Tony Greig Award (Worst prediction of the week) Will he ever live down that ‘We will make them grovel’ prediction re- the West Indies? And the Winner is: Pasag click here This was posted during the WI V Aust. ICC CT match. Should not be allowed to use ‘Ghost Who Walks’ with posts like this :p

6. Inzamam Award (Vaguest poster of the week) We are not sure what he is talking about, but we hope he knows. And the Winner is: Lillian Thomson click here does anybody have a clue what he is talking about here?

7. The Sir Geoffrey Award (Most knowledgeable poster of the week) We were going to call this the Richie Benaud award, but after speaking to Boycs, he assured us he new twice as much as Richie. And the Winner is: Mr Mxyzptlk, very good poster, really knows his stuff on WI cricket. A pity we don’t have more posters from that part of the world

8. The Bradman Award (Overall CW poster of the week) Simply the best no matter what the debate or criteria. And the Winner is: no award this week

Agarkar/Mohammed award for ('At least their trying' award)
just like the players this award is named after, they may not be quite good enough for any other award, but at least we remember them. And the Winner is: BhupinderSingh, has been around awhile, but stopped posting for a period

10. The Patrick Eagar award for great photography, because we have named this
award after the greatest cricket action photographer, it will only be awarded when someone reaches a high standard of snaps. And the Winner is: No award this week

The Gatting V Rana award for the best debate of the week, and the winners are: Who would you rather face? click here It reminds me of the fellow facing DKL on a fast WACA wicket with no helmet. After almost having his head knocked off on two occasions, he seemed to be a little nervous. As Lillee ran in off his longest run and was almost to the crease, the batsman put up his hand and pulled away. When asked ‘what was the problem’(I have cleaned this up) by DKL. The batsman quickly answered ‘ I want the sight screen shifted’. The problem? The screens don’t move at the WACA:D

Please remember, these awards are not officially endorsed by CW management :)

Yes mate, well done  (you have started some good threads recently, keep it up):)

Perm

Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
Thanks for the award guys, I'm just trying my best to participate and contribute.

aussie tragic

International Captain
IMO Matt79 deserved the Skull, his SW post mentioned was great, while I also didn't get the SS post

Also, as Lillian thomson earlier accused Turbinator of starting a thread just to put in a joke he had planned, I now accuse L & T of starting that thread just to win to the Inzy, either that or he was on drugs so it shouldn't count :)

I gratefully accept the award. But I should point out that it was cricket thread with a genuine story but someone made the decision to close the thread before it reached a natural conclusion. This means no one will ever know the story behind it and it will torment you all for the rest of your lives.................or at least until the next episode of The Sooty and Sweep Show.

No offense to SS, but the Skull award was a bit of a meh. I get what SS was trying to say, but Matt's SW post was hilarious.

I thought this one ended with the umpire asking him "where to", and the answer being "in between me and the bowler". That could've been a Fred Trueman story though!
