Went for Ranji, even though he didn't play much during this period he was hard to ignore.

Went for Ranji, not to fussed whether its him then Hill or Hill then him. Hope Armstrong will be included for the all-rounders slot.

I nearly went for Shrewsbury (WG once said "give me Arthur" and if he was good enough for him...) but in the end I vote for Rnji.

I am going for F S Jackson.

Avg of 48 (higher than anyone else), a very good captain of England (who won the ashes) and was a marked contrast to A C McLaren, he could bowl too I think, and more to the point, was the man Rhodes said was at his best with his back to the wall.

So F S Jackson for me.
