Oh ****. Penalty to Algeria. 1-0. Good start for the Belgians. Now expect Algeria to sit with 10 at the back for the rest of the game.

If you could be the dark horses for most overrated team Belgium would have it in the bag.

Not sure about actual dark horses.

Nice thing for Algeria that they got a penalty, because **** knows they weren't scoring any other way. Seriously uninspiring half.

Algeria look like a well-drilled side. Belgium not offering a lot mind you; they've been really sloppy in possession. Vertonghen all over the place for the pen as well.

They looked like they were picking up towards the end of the half, but you wonder how much of that was down to Algeria tiring.

Looks like they took the entire first half to remember the whole idea in football is scoring goals as opposed to stat-padding.

Impressed with Algeria on the whole. Looked very well organised, made things really difficult for Belgium. Some good qualityiin the second half from Belgium, though... So probably probably deserved the win.

Both teams look fairly well organised at the back, but neither are particularly good/imaginative in attack. Not a great watch; the kind of game a pundit might call a "fascinating contest".

It's been particularly horrible in this game, but the standard of keeping across the opening round of games has been pretty crap on the whole imo.

Yeah with the exception of the Mexican keeper today and maybe the Nigerian one yesterday, there haven't been any particularly good keeping performances, and lots of errors. Goes some way to explaining the high goal count.
