Hahaha.

It just seems odd to me, as I'm really curious to what exactly would constitute slander for the purposes of the infraction, how it would differ from the usual "insults" infraction, and how it would differ from what would count as slander in the legal meaning of the word.

Going to start reporting posts for slander from now on though. Got to test the waters.
From 2011:

Also, what is meant by "slander" in the rules? Surely nobody has ever slandered anyone on here, unless we are applying something other than the legal definition of the term.
My interpretation of it was more in terms of spreading rumours/innuendo that defame more public figures.
Hmmmm, I may save it for a more opportune moment. But it's nice to know that this proposed system would allow for me to be intentionally abusive towards someone and not end up sitting on a ban.
And you never forgot it.

Haha I have no memory of this, but at least I am consistent. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Rumours about public figures.

So when Epstein (god rest his soul) was slandered non-stop about the unproven allegations that he had an island for rodgering children, where was the justice?

create some drama. ban someone for being perfectly reasonable, ban someone popular for completely justifiable reasons, bring a long hated poster back from the dead for us all to flame. idc.

im no watson fan but he had some good ideas. as this crisis proves, it is excellent when people remain in their cultural bubbles because it is optimal for humanity. we've even gone one better here in the greatest nation on earth and confined them to their family cultural bubble using the power of the left wing police state. all hail comrade jacinda. the people have achieved true freedom through isolationism, watsons #1 goal.

we were right to fear the almighty tumblr 14 year old all along. they created covid 19 to destroy the boomer class, the common sense elder generation who know how the world really works and aren't afraid of free speech. snowflakes of virus manufactured in commie factories have doomed western civilization.

evil comrade jacinda has sent us all to our bedrooms so there are no heroic middle aged white men to stand between her and the ultimate communist utopia. the peoples socialist republic of new zealand aotearoa.

the mods need to step up here and follow new zealands example. james once said 'if you don't like it here, leave' or was it stop the boats? i don't remember, but the point is what if we could do better? what if we both couldn't like it here but also not be able to leave?

the mods are too liberal, too tolerant of freedom of speech. bunch of boomers, the lot of ya. man up and crush the resistance.

maybe we should invite blocky back. he could trigger sensitive little aussies. his boi neil wagner dominated steve 'greatest since bradman' smith. blocky has more fc wickets than mark craig, i for one cannot wait to hear how his opinions have developed over time. is ross taylor still defined by the racial stereotypes blocky projects onto him? is he still going to play armchair psychologist to martin guptill and diagnose him with 67 different types of anxiety disorder?

all the people of cw have here is weeks of isolation ahead to ruminate on how lame we are in every facet of our lives. the fact we would have done this quite happily if the almighty state (jacinda bless the republic) hadn't made us do it isn't the point. the point is now we are forced to do it we don't want to do it. i am also aware a minority of cwers claim to lead sensible, successful and stable lives. some have even defeated natural selections plan for the introverted nerd and reproduced. now i don't want to call a man a liar, but these people are either liars or in denial of their own crushing nerdism.

i propose a new peoples republic of cricketweb dot net. unfortunately, some of you will need to be killed to ensure the freedom of the people. prince ews will be the first name on the kill list in the public forum. sledger knows too much about computer spy things so if he's not willing to join the republics spies he too will need to be sent to a re-education camp.

the people will need to think outside the box. to this end, athlai and tnt will soon become heroes of the new republic. tnt is willing to turn any functioning woman into a nurse using a fridge and athlai gets his coronavirus information from movies. this is the sort of planning committee we need, none of this nerd stuff silentstriker and spark post. graphs and reliable statistics, you make me sick.

a few positions for the new republic outlined

phlegm - benevolent leader for life
burgey - judge or something. he yells and trolls a lot so i just want him in government tbh
gnske - media manager
athlai and tnt - solutions architects
rosstaylorsbox - ***ual activities manager
***** - 'ok' guy
watson - cultural advisor

im bored of this post now so i will leave the rest to the people of cw. this could be the start of something new, something great, something something true freedom.
What is this I don't even

18 hours into voluntary self-isolation. We all know Flem would prefer to be out there wearing short shorts with a perfect outline of his thunderous mantlepiece set comfortably between his loins out in public.
