We have two obvious chances. In the rowing, the Ever-Swindell twins will surely win the double cox rowing or whatever its called. Theyøve haven't been beaten in a few years, and I'll doubt that it will happen here. We then have Sarah Ulmer who recently set a new World Record in the 3000m individual pursuit. I reckon that they will win. Otherwise New Zealand is bound to sux. damit...

Our equestrian people usually manage to pick up a couple of bronzes. Agree that the Evers-Swindells are almost guaranteed gold (hopefully I won't jinx them by saying that). Also Corney Swanepoel looks a good swimmer, might be a bit young for this year tho. Sarah Ulmer should pick up a medal of some colour, and Beatrice Faumuina is a chance to do so also. Dunno about any of our runners, there's one who is doing quite well in 1500m races over in USA at the moment, can't remember his name.

So we have some decent prospects, hopefully we'll do better than the pathetic 1 gold medal we got in Sydney.

1 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze. NZ as a country managed 1 more medal than Marion Jones got!

It was a depressing result, after a good performance in Atlanta.

Certainly hoping for better this time around.

6 medals overall is still quite a good effort by us in the last olympics.. hopefully we should add 2 or 3 more to that?

If Rugby becomes an Olympic Sport again, New Zealand would all but certain of a gold medal in that sport.

Heck it would be wise to have the New Zealand flag ready.

Why would they be all but certain?

If it were, teams would aim to peak at that as well as the WC, and also it'd almost certainly have to be sevens.

It would be Sevens, It is the only way you will get so many games in, and NZ would be very strong favourites given their dominence in this form the game.

What dominance is this?

Granted, they won the World Sevens Tour this season, but the margin of victory doesn't suggest that they'd be strong favourites by any streatch of the imagination.

Like the commonwealth games. Australia sent a full strength team (pretty much) and still got beaten....

C & G Evers-Swindell.

Never in doubt.

Now, from nowhere, NZ are 27th on the medal table!
