Game over. Huge chase, after having been bowled out for naff all in the first two ODIs chasing 329 must have looked colossal.

Yessssssssssss. Was worried they'd get close owing to the massive partnership but not kick on from there. The no-ball helped a lot. Truly wonderful performance all round.

Woah. Actually surprised they sent Tector instead of Campher but it worked out just fine.

Ireland players need to play some cricket overseas and increase their exposure. They have a lot of potential to improve.

ireland love yeeting the poms

i hope 3 tests in england and 2 in ireland becomes the norm. if 'the standard of play' is such as issue, take the opportunity to rest high workload players and risk being irelands next yeeting.

Yeah he's a really bad starter. Seen him bat a few times on TV now and he's got to double figures twice, both times he tonned up (World Cup qualifier v Scotland and last night)

Moeen is just crap - Dawson would be a significant upgrade tbh even if that's just getting consistent 30s/40s. Versatile cricketer too who can bat in the top 4 but most likely would be a 7/8 in this line-up and bowls good darts

EDIT : so Moeen averages close to 50 with the ball in just north of 100 ODI's. I had no idea it was close to being that bad

Keep in mind that England's ODI team have been playing in some batting paradises over the last few years, wouldn't help the bowling figures.

The most encouraging thing for Ireland is a lot of their best performers in the series are still young, the team was still largely dependent on a fair few of the 2007 golden generation up until quite recently, there was always the possibility that things could fall away badly as the sands of time inevitably move on. Now the next step is for those who have been around for a while but are still reasonably young (Stirling, Balbirnie, Craig Young to a certain extent) to really take charge and guide the next generation
