Well now England have won, something I certainly did not anticipate when I started this thread. I am not going to pretend that I am not really happy, I am and it is always going to be great to win the ashes. Am delighted for Strauss and Fred. However I am still left a little hollow by this series and this side, mainly because neither side really played well at the same time and our batting still leaves me a bit cold. I cannot seriously say that we deserved to win but it is still great.

Am in agreement with Pothas. Happy we've won but I didn't really get massively excited by it..I was after the first 2 tests, but since then I think we have shown we are an average side and I really can't see us taking the next step or making the tough decisions that would transform us into a good side. In 05 we were already a good side and we actually deserved the win.
